 At Sabon Gari Quarters in Kano State, an explosion killed and injured many. The unfortunate incident was witnessed by our correspondent, who saw more than five people being pulled from the rubble. Many people are still trapped in the rubble of the house, which is located next to a primary school. However, an eyewitness claimed that he saw a young male walking along the road when suddenly something exploded.

Although neither the National Emergency Management Agency nor security personnel has commented on the explosion, several people are already dead and many more are trapped beneath the rubble. Both the head of the Department of Security Service (DSS), Muhammad Alhassan and Samaila Shuaibu Diko the Police Commissioner was present at the scene.

The scene was also attended by military personnel, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), and other civilians. Kano State Government denied it was an attack on school and insisted that the explosion was caused by an animal pet shop. Muhammad Garba, the state commissioner for information, stated that the government was trying to determine the cause of the explosion and the extent of damage and casualties.

“The shop of the seller is on the ground floor in the same building as the school. The cylinder exploded and brought down the school, injuring the pupils. He said that there wasn’t been a bomb explosion. The Kano state government commented on the incident and denied that it occurred at a school.

Malam Muhammad Garba, the state commissioner for information, stated that the incident occurred at an animal feed shop opposite the school on Aba Road in Sabon Gari. He stated that while the cause of the explosion was not yet known and the extent of its damage is still unknown, an investigation has been initiated to determine the impact, cause and appropriate measures.

Malam Garba urged the people of the state, especially those who live in the area where it occurred, to keep calm, while the government, in collaboration with the relevant agencies, works on the matter. The commissioner assured the public that government would keep them informed about any developments and advised people not to spread unsubstantiated information.
