 Stacey Park Milbern Korean- An American activist has been pronounced dead on the 19 th of May 2022. She was an activist for the fair treatment and rights of people with disabilities. The month of May is dedicated to the celebrations of Asian American Heritage and Pacific Islander Heritage. In the United States, Google doodle dedicates the 19 th of May to Stacey Park. Stacey was born in Seoul on the 19th of May 1987. Her mixed-race heritage is due to her Korean mother and father, who were both white men. She grew up in North Carolina because her father was in the United States Army.

At 16 years old, she began working for disability rights. Later, she established the North Carolina Youth Leadership Forum. She dedicated her entire life to disabled people. She made sure that all disabled people were empowered and participated in advocacy and leadership just like the rest of us. She was diagnosed with congenital muscular dystrophy at birth. Despite that, she loved her body and was able to embrace it. She used to live with her parents at first.

She moved out before her forum was established. Her main reason she moved away was her queer personality. She stood out in her Christian family. Her blog was also a place where she wrote poetry about disability and had discussions. Even though she could walk, she began using a wheelchair. She also opposed Jerry Lewis, who called the disabled pity animals. After moving to San Francisco, she worked even harder for the rights and health of disabled people. At that point, she was 24 years old.\

Through a grassroots campaign, she also assisted the disabled during the 2019 electric shutdown. She provided kits with all the necessary items to the homeless when the pandemic struck in 2020. Due to complications in her surgery, she was about to have kidney cancer and was scheduled to be operated on. Because of complications during her surgery, she died within 3 months. On Wednesday, the 18 th May, she died at 9 a.m. PT. She has made a lasting impact on the lives of disabled people through all her efforts.
